CPU governor

Di seguito l'elenco dei governor presi dal sito Cronos.
Appena avro un attimo di tempo gli do un'occhiata e cerco di tradurli.

CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_GOV_CRONOS:
This scheduler and governor allows each process/thread to be assigned a fraction of the bandwidth.
It supports ioprio classes at each hierarchy level, creating a strict priority ordering. Meaning that idle queues are served only if there are no best effort queues in the same schedule, and best effort queues are executed only if there are no real-time queues.

It will return the processor to the speed it was before it started waiting for I/O. So it will ignore I/O Wait calculations making it hang on a specific cpu speed. So in other words it will not do any calculations nor will it count it all up to check if we need a lower speed jump. Solving spiky CPU jumps.

CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_GOV_PERFORMANCE:
This cpufreq governor sets the frequency statically to the highest available CPU frequency.

CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_GOV_POWERSAVE:
This cpufreq governor sets the frequency statically to the lowest available CPU frequency.

CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_GOV_USERSPACE:
Enable this cpufreq governor when you either want to set the CPU frequency manually or when a userspace program shall be able to set the CPU dynamically

CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_GOV_ONDEMAND:
'ondemand' - This driver adds a dynamic cpufreq policy governor. The governor does a periodic polling and changes frequency based on the CPU utilization. The support for this governor depends on CPU capability to do fast frequency switching (i.e, very low latency frequency transitions).

CONFIG_CPU_FREQ_GOV_CONSERVATIVE:
'conservative' - this driver is rather similar to the 'ondemand' governor both in its source code and its purpose, the difference is its optimisation for better suitability in a battery powered environment. The frequency is gracefully increased and decreased rather than jumping to 100% when speed is required.
If you have a desktop machine then you should really be considering the 'ondemand' governor instead, however if you are using a laptop, PDA or even an AMD64 based computer (due to the unacceptable step-by-step latency issues between the minimum and maximum frequency transitions in the CPU) you will probably want to use this governor.
